Patna to Crack Down on Illegal Parking With Round-the-Clock Enforcement

Authorities in Patna are set to intensify action against illegally parked vehicles, with strict enforcement planned both during the day and at night. Vehicles found parked in violation of rules will be seized and towed to police stations. Owners will be fined and required to pay towing charges. Continued violations could result in cancellation of driving licences and registration of cases.

During daytime hours, any vehicle parked for more than five minutes in a no-parking zone will attract action against both the driver and the vehicle owner. Divisional Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar has directed officials to strictly enforce no-parking and no-vending norms to ease traffic congestion and remove encroachments.

Key roads including Ashok Rajpath, Nehru Path, Boring Road, Gandhi Maidan, Bailey Road, Dak Bungalow area, and Buddha Marg will see complete parking bans for two- and four-wheelers. Night enforcement drives will target public spaces. The city will be monitored in real time through the Integrated Command and Control Centre using CCTV and ANPR cameras.
