Bihar’s Transport Department has made High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) compulsory for all vehicles registered before March 31, 2019, tightening compliance to improve vehicle identification and road safety. Vehicle owners are being informed through SMS alerts sent to registered mobile numbers, urging prompt installation. Officials clarified that owners who have already installed HSRP need not take further action, while others must complete the process without delay.
According to the Bihar Transport Department, bookings can be made online via the official portal, ensuring transparency and standardised pricing. Rosmerta Safety Systems, the authorised vendor in Bihar, advised applicants to note that home delivery is not available in the state. Payments must be made strictly in the name of the authorised company, not individuals.
After booking, vehicle owners must visit the designated fitment centre on the allotted date, time, and location with their vehicle. Alternatively, bookings can also be completed at authorised dealerships using valid identity proof.
