Darbhanga district witnessed tension after police booked 70 named Brahmins and over 100 unidentified persons under the SC/ST Act following a violent clash linked to an old wage dispute. The incident occurred on January 31 in the Harinagar village area under Kusheshwarasthan police station limits.

According to the FIR filed by Asarfi Paswan, the dispute stemmed from unpaid wages related to house construction work carried out in 2015. Police said the situation escalated after an argument over payment, leading to a clash involving sticks and iron rods. Several people were injured, and properties were allegedly damaged.

Darbhanga DSP (Rural) Prabhakar Tiwari said 12 accused have been arrested so far, while raids are ongoing to nab others. He added that some are attempting to give the incident a caste angle. Security has been intensified, and the situation remains tense but under control.
