A major fire broke out at Gopalpur Police Station in Patna’s Sampat Chak area on Saturday evening, destroying several seized vehicles parked on the premises. The blaze spread rapidly, triggering loud explosions as fuel tanks and tyres caught fire, and thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the spot, causing panic in the surrounding locality.
Fire tenders were rushed to the scene, and a joint operation by the fire brigade and police brought the flames under control after sustained efforts. As a precautionary measure, nearby roads and market areas were temporarily closed, and residents were advised to maintain a safe distance.
