Patna Airport has commissioned its third aerobridge at the new terminal, marking another step toward improving passenger convenience and operational efficiency. The newly operational aerobridge, which connects Gate 11, allows travellers to board and disembark aircraft directly, significantly reducing dependence on bus transfers.
Airport Director Chandra Pratap Dwivedi said the addition will save time and minimise discomfort, particularly for elderly passengers, children and those carrying luggage. The new terminal is designed to eventually operate with five aerobridges, of which three are now functional. The remaining two are complete and awaiting clearance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation before opening to passengers.
Once fully operational, the terminal will be capable of handling up to eight aircraft simultaneously. Even then, during peak hours, limited bus transfers may still be required. Officials said the aerobridge expansion is part of a broader plan to modernise Patna Airport with world-class facilities, ensuring faster, safer and more comfortable travel for passengers.
