Heavy rainfall has lashed large parts of north India, affecting Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, as a shift in winter weather patterns brought showers accompanied by strong winds. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the rain disrupted daily life, particularly in Delhi and the National Capital Region, where commuters faced traffic snarls and reduced visibility.
According to the IMD, Bihar is also likely to experience rainfall early next week, especially in its northern districts. Light showers are expected in areas including East and West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran around January 29. Gusty winds may accompany the rain, impacting neighbouring regions as well.
Meanwhile, cold conditions continue to grip Bihar. Night temperatures remain below 10°C in several districts, with Rajgir in Nalanda recording the lowest temperature at 7.3°C in the last 24 hours. The IMD has advised residents to stay alert, carry umbrellas, and regularly monitor weather updates as winter conditions persist.
