A vigilance investigation has once again brought the fake teacher recruitment scam in Sitamarhi district into focus, with two women teachers and one male teacher found to have secured appointments using forged certificates. The action follows clear directives from the High Court to identify and act against illegally appointed teachers. The Vigilance Department has initiated the process of lodging FIRs at the concerned police stations.
Officials said the probe is part of a wider verification drive covering teachers appointed between 2006 and 2015. The exercise aims to ensure that only candidates with valid and recognised educational qualifications remain in service. During scrutiny, several cases surfaced where appointments were allegedly obtained using fake matriculation, Madhyama and intermediate certificates.
So far, FIRs have already been registered against 105 fake teachers across Bihar. Despite repeated notices, many accused teachers have not voluntarily resigned, prompting stricter legal action. Authorities said the ongoing crackdown is essential to restore credibility to the education system and uphold judicial orders.
