BPSC Teachers Face Statewide Academic Certificate Reverification

The Bihar Education Department has initiated a comprehensive verification drive to re-examine the academic credentials of teachers appointed through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Nearly two years after their appointments, authorities have directed district education officers to scrutinise the complete educational records of these teachers, covering matriculation, intermediate, graduation, postgraduation, and teacher training qualifications such as D.El.Ed and B.Ed.

In Banka district, District Education Officer Devanarayan Pandit has issued instructions to all Block Education Officers to begin the process immediately. Teachers have been given time until January 16 to submit their documents. Only certificates bearing the official BPSC watermark—uploaded during the original application process—will be accepted, ensuring consistency with previously verified records.

The verification applies to teachers recruited under all three phases of the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination: TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3. Officials said the move aims to ensure transparency, eliminate discrepancies, and maintain the integrity of the recruitment process. In Banka alone, around 5,000 teachers are expected to undergo this verification exercise, with similar checks planned across the state.
