Government school teachers in Bihar have received significant relief with the commencement of the school allotment process under the inter-district transfer policy. The Education Department has confirmed that the process began on January 1 in multiple districts and will be completed by January 10, 2026. All eligible teachers are expected to receive their final school postings within this stipulated timeline, bringing clarity and stability to their service conditions.
According to official sources, by December 31, eligible teachers in all districts except Nalanda had already been allotted their respective blocks. Following this, the next phase—school-level allotment—has been initiated. From Thursday, districts such as Kaimur, Katihar, Supaul and Kishanganj formally started assigning schools to transferred teachers. Other districts are also progressing steadily to meet the department’s deadline.
To ensure transparency, efficiency and fairness, the entire process is being conducted online through the e-Shiksha Kosh portal. This digital mechanism is aimed at eliminating manual intervention, reducing administrative delays and preventing irregularities. Education Department officials have stated that strict monitoring is in place so that no eligible teacher faces unnecessary hurdles.
The inter-district transfer and timely school allotment are expected to ease staffing imbalances across schools while addressing long-standing demands of teachers seeking transfers. The move is being widely welcomed as a step toward better workforce management in Bihar’s government education system.
