Bihar Panchayat Polls to Use EVMs for First Time in 2026

After the Assembly polls, political activity has shifted to Bihar’s 2026 panchayat elections, set to witness historic changes. For the first time, voting will be held using electronic voting machines. The State Election Commission has begun preparations to deploy multi-post EVMs, allowing voters to cast ballots simultaneously for ward member, mukhiya, sarpanch and panchayat samiti posts, aiming for efficiency statewide.
