Supreme Court Grants Relief to Accused in Woman-Video Case, Clarifies Scope of Voyeurism Law

The Supreme Court granted relief to a man accused of recording a woman’s video, ruling that IPC Section 354C (voyeurism) applies only when a woman is engaged in private acts. The court said capturing photos or videos in public does not qualify. It also advised police and trial courts to exercise caution while filing chargesheets and framing charges.
