Election Commission sets up committee to assess shortcomings in recently held assembly polls

Acore committee has been set up by the Election Commission to identify the shortcomings in the recently held state assembly elections.

The core committee headed by the Secretary-General, ECI will identify learning, experiences, shortcomings from the recently held polls in Assam, Bihar, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and UT of Puducherry.

The committee will identify shortcomings, gaps in the ECI's regulatory regime and implement changes and enforce them at the level of CEOs/ District officials.
