KHUNTI, JHARKHAND: Khunti police have received 18 new patrol bikes from the state government to strengthen law enforcement, improve surveillance and enhance crime prevention across the district.

Superintendent of Police Rishabh Garg expressed gratitude to the state government, stating that the vehicles would improve patrolling in urban areas and remote villages. Special bike squads and additional motorcycle-based Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have also been planned for Durga Puja security.

According to the SP, the bikes will help police personnel navigate narrow lanes and crowded areas around festival pandals and fairs, enabling quicker responses to emergencies.

The vehicles will be distributed among police stations across the district, including those in remote areas, rather than being restricted to the town police station. Khunti had previously received 12 bikes, and the additional vehicles will support the effective implementation of beat policing.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Javed Hussain described the initiative as an important step towards strengthening policing and improving rapid surveillance across the district.
