The iconic Hōlei Sea Arch in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park has collapsed into the Pacific Ocean after standing for roughly 500 years. The popular tourist landmark, estimated at about 90 feet high, was still visible when the park closed on September 23 during Tropical Storm Nolo. By September 28, when the park reopened, the natural arch had disappeared entirely.
