Brief By Newsbrief / 3:52 PM on 02 Sep 2026

Gold and silver prices remained high in India on September 2, with 24-carat gold priced at ₹1,51,328 per 10 grams and silver at around ₹2.28 lakh per kilogram. According to the report, gold prices have risen by ₹4,500 in two days, while silver has declined by about ₹9,000.

Gold rates vary across cities because of differences in local taxes, jewellery demand, transportation costs and market conditions. The 24-carat gold prices reported include ₹1,52,020 per 10 grams in Ahmedabad, while rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai were around ₹1.51 lakh.

Gold prices have remained elevated through the year, after reaching ₹1,53,000 per 10 grams on August 31. Silver has also recorded gains, despite recent volatility.

Consumer demand during festive periods, along with international market movements, continues to influence precious-metal rates. Local jewellery purchases and taxes contribute to differences in retail rates.
