Ranchi Moves to Seal 18 Coaching Centres Over Missing Licences

Ranchi Municipal Corporation has intensified action against coaching institutes operating without valid municipal trade licences. Its special inspection team checked 70 coaching centres and libraries across different wards and found 18 operating without the required licence.

The corporation had earlier issued notices directing the institutions to obtain licences within three days and comply with regulations. However, officials said the concerned centres failed to meet the deadline, prompting sealing proceedings under the Jharkhand Municipal Act, 2011.

The corporation cited violations under Sections 455 and 600 of the Act and Clauses 19 and 20 of the Jharkhand Municipal Trade Licence Rules, 2017. Institutions facing action include MBA Achievers, Gravity Education, National CLAT Academy, Master Minds, Pages Library, The Blackboard, AKS Academy and DCUBE Classes.

Officials said operating commercial activities without a municipal trade licence is a violation, whether in residential or commercial premises. The corporation warned that similar action would be taken against other establishments lacking valid licences and urged operators to complete all required formalities.
