Gold, Silver Prices Slide; Gold Drops ₹4,453

Gold and silver prices witnessed a steep decline on Monday, according to the figures provided. The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold fell by ₹4,453 to ₹1,55,125, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,42,095. Silver also dropped by ₹8,437, reaching ₹2,35,000 per kilogram.

Gold rates varied slightly across major cities. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Patna, Lucknow, Raipur and Ahmedabad recorded 24-carat gold prices between ₹1,56,770 and ₹1,56,920 per 10 grams, while Bhopal recorded ₹1,56,820.

The latest decline follows a sharp rise earlier this year. Gold had touched approximately ₹1.76 lakh per 10 grams on January 29, meaning current prices are around ₹21,000 lower than that peak.

Silver had also reached an all-time high of ₹3.86 lakh per kilogram on January 29 before declining to current levels. Experts advise buyers to check purity, daily rates and making charges before purchasing precious metals.
