Jharkhand’s Cancelled Recruitment Exams Leave Thousands in Limbo

The cancellation of 22 competitive examinations by the Jharkhand government has left around 15,000 aspirants awaiting recruitment clarity. The examinations, conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), were cancelled following student protests.

CID investigations are underway, but candidates demand inquiries be completed quickly so appointments can resume. Aspirants say prolonged delays could affect students who have spent years preparing for government jobs.

The JPSC Civil Services, Food Safety Officer, CDPO and CGL examinations have received relief from the High Court, although investigations continue. Several other examinations remain uncertain.

The JPSC has become inactive after its chairman and members resigned, preventing major policy decisions. Meanwhile, JSSC faces difficulties following the CGL controversy. Student organisations have urged the government to finalise a recruitment policy, complete investigations and restore confidence in Jharkhand’s examination system.
