Brief By Newsbrief / 9:25 AM on 29 Aug 2026

A Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express collided with a wood-loaded tractor-trolley between Charhi and Bes railway stations in Hazaribagh on Friday, causing disruption to train operations. The tractor-trolley had reportedly entered the railway track, leaving the high-speed train with little time to avoid the collision.

The impact damaged the front portion of the Vande Bharat Express. However, officials confirmed that no passenger was injured and all travellers remained safe. Following the accident, the train was halted at the spot for around 41 minutes.

Railway officials and employees immediately reached the location and inspected the train and tracks. The Dhanbad railway division confirmed the incident and initiated necessary procedures. After the inspection and required action, the train resumed its journey towards Patna.

The incident has raised concerns over unauthorized movement of vehicles onto railway tracks, particularly along routes used by high-speed trains. Authorities are investigating how the tractor-trolley reached the track and the circumstances leading to the collision.
