Pune Proposes India’s First Digit-Letter Vehicle Registration Series

Pune may introduce India’s first digit-letter vehicle registration series, “MH-12 1A”, as the existing sequence approaches the final “ZZ” combination. The Pune RTO has proposed retaining the MH-12 identity instead of moving to three letters. The proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for approval. If approved, it will create a new registration format.
