Weeks after declaring independence from Pakistan, the self-proclaimed Republic of Balochistan announced August 11 as its Independence Day. It urged the international community to recognise its sovereignty and claimed lasting regional peace cannot be achieved while Pakistan remains in its current form, according to the declaration released by the group in July recently.
