Hero MotoCorp’s VIDA Crosses 3 Lakh EV Sales, Demand Surges as Growth Acceler

Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand VIDA has crossed a major milestone by selling more than 300,000 electric scooters in India. Between its launch in November 2022 and August 1, 2026, VIDA sold 300,458 units, highlighting the brand’s rapidly growing presence in the country’s electric two-wheeler market.

The sales figures show a sharp acceleration in demand over the past year. While the company took 33 months to sell its first 100,000 units, it required only seven months to increase sales from 100,000 to 200,000 units. The next 100,000-unit milestone was achieved in just five months, meaning VIDA sold nearly 200,000 electric scooters in the last 12 months alone.

July 2026 became the brand’s best-ever sales month, with 22,883 units sold. The previous record was set in June 2026, when VIDA sold 21,893 units, making it the second-highest monthly sales figure in the brand’s history.

VIDA’s market share in India’s electric two-wheeler segment has also grown significantly. After holding around 4% market share in calendar year 2024, the brand has increased its share to approximately 11% so far in 2026. If the current momentum continues, Hero MotoCorp is expected to sell around 225,000 VIDA electric scooters during 2026, making it the company’s biggest year in the EV business.

VIDA is currently the fourth-largest electric two-wheeler brand in India, behind TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto, and Ather Energy. The company continues to expand its footprint with over 900 touchpoints across 415 cities, more than 700 dealers, and access to charging facilities at over 5,900 locations, positioning itself for further growth as demand for electric mobility rises.
