Jharkhand Govt Swings Into Action Over JPSC-JSSC Row, CM Hemant Soren Meets Governor

Amid growing concerns over the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) recruitment examinations, Chief Minister Hemant Soren met Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar was also present during the meeting.
The discussion centered on the ongoing controversies surrounding recruitment examinations, allegations of irregularities, concerns raised by job aspirants, and the steps being taken by the state government to address the situation. According to sources, the Chief Minister briefed the Governor on recent developments, student protests, and the government's efforts to ensure a transparent and credible recruitment process.
Governor Gangwar stressed that competitive examinations directly impact the future of lakhs of young aspirants and therefore must be conducted in a fair, transparent, and trustworthy manner. He emphasized that any suspicion of irregularities should be addressed promptly to maintain public confidence in the recruitment system.
The Governor also advised that constitutional bodies such as JPSC and JSSC should strengthen their functioning by making their processes more transparent, accountable, and efficient. He said recruitment procedures should be free from any doubts so that the credibility of these institutions remains intact.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren assured the Governor that the state government is fully committed to safeguarding the interests of the youth. He stated that no negligence or irregularity affecting students' futures would be tolerated. A fair investigation will be ensured, and strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible, in accordance with the law.
The Chief Minister further said the government's objective is not only to resolve the present controversy but also to establish a recruitment system that prevents similar issues in the future. He reiterated that deserving candidates should receive opportunities through a transparent and merit-based selection process, strengthening public trust in government recruitment institutions.
