Ranchi Police have launched an investigation after unidentified miscreants vandalised several parked vehicles in the Hindpiri area late Monday night, creating panic among local residents. The attackers targeted vehicles parked along Moti Masjid Road and Makka Masjid Road in Nizam Nagar, smashing windows before fleeing the scene. Among the damaged vehicles was one belonging to a DSP-rank police officer, adding to the seriousness of the incident. Residents discovered the vandalism on Tuesday morning and alerted the police, following which a team from Hindpiri Police Station reached the spot. Investigators have begun examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify those responsible and determine whether the attack was carried out by a single individual or an organised group. Hindpiri Police Station in-charge Arun Mahto said the case is being investigated thoroughly, and officials are collecting technical and physical evidence. Police have assured residents that those involved will be identified and brought to justice.
