A bomb threat note found inside the lavatory of an IndiGo flight bound for Ahmedabad triggered a major security operation at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport. The handwritten message was discovered shortly before Flight 6E-6423 was scheduled to depart on Thursday evening, prompting airport authorities to activate standard emergency protocols.
A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) conducted a comprehensive inspection of the aircraft, examining every section for explosives or suspicious objects. After an extensive search, officials confirmed that no explosive device was found and declared the warning a non-specific hoax.
Following a complaint by IndiGo, Bengaluru Police registered a case and launched an investigation to identify the individual responsible for the false threat. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the airport and the aircraft to trace the suspect. Authorities said strict legal action will be taken if the person behind the hoax is identified, citing the serious disruption caused to flight operations and passenger safety.
