Gold prices extended their decline on July 14, with 24-carat gold falling by ₹476 per 10 grams to ₹1.42 lakh, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association. Silver, meanwhile, gained ₹849 to reach ₹2.19 lakh per kilogram.

Gold has fallen sharply from its January peak of ₹1.76 lakh per 10 grams, losing around ₹34,000. Silver has also retreated significantly from its record high of ₹3.86 lakh per kilogram, despite its latest recovery.

Market analysts attribute the decline in precious metals to a stronger US dollar and profit-booking by institutional and retail investors following earlier record highs. Experts say both gold and silver have undergone a healthy correction. Investors seeking market exposure have been advised to consider gradual buying rather than making lump-sum investments, as global economic conditions and currency movements continue influencing prices.
