Youth Allegedly Assaulted Over Land Dispute in Garhwa

A youth identified as Rupam Chandravanshi was allegedly assaulted by a group of motorcycle-borne men near Chetna village under Garhwa Sadar police station. According to the victim, he was travelling from home for work when attackers, allegedly waiting in ambush, arrived on two motorcycles and repeatedly assaulted him before fleeing.

Chandravanshi claimed the attack was linked to his opposition to soil excavation being carried out on his land. He alleged that men associated with a person named Shahrukh were responsible for the assault.

Following the incident, the victim informed local MLA Satyendra Nath Tiwari, who accompanied him to the Superintendent of Police's office and demanded immediate action.

Tiwari criticised the Jharkhand government, alleging that it protects criminals and has failed to maintain law and order. The allegations remain subject to police investigation, and further action is awaited in the case.
