Elderly Woman Duped of Gold Jewellery in Black Magic Scam, Fraudsters Escape

A shocking case of fraud in the name of black magic and faith healing has come to light in the Sadar police station area, where two unidentified men allegedly duped a 70-year-old woman of gold jewellery worth several lakhs before escaping.
According to police, the incident took place in Bisanpur, where Rajkumari Devi, wife of Triloki Yadav, was alone at home when the accused arrived. The two men, dressed in black clothes with green scarves, introduced themselves as spiritual healers capable of removing family problems through special rituals and tantric practices.
After gaining the elderly woman's trust, the fraudsters convinced her that a religious ritual was necessary to eliminate difficulties from her household. Following their instructions, she removed her gold earrings, pendant, and bangles and placed them inside a cloth as part of the so-called ritual.
The accused then instructed her to walk 51 steps forward without looking back, claiming the ritual would only succeed if she followed their directions. As soon as the woman moved away, the two men fled with the jewellery.
When family members learned about the incident, they immediately informed the police. A team from the Sadar police station reached the spot, inspected the area, and began reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations to identify the suspects.
Police officials said efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused at the earliest. They have also urged the public, especially senior citizens, to remain cautious and avoid trusting strangers claiming to perform miracles, black magic, or faith-healing rituals. Authorities advised residents to report any suspicious activity immediately to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
