Deep Pothole Turns Deadly in Chatra: Biker Seriously Injured After Hyva Runs Over His Arm

A serious road accident occurred near the Chatra Bus Stand after a motorcyclist lost control of his bike while attempting to avoid a large pothole on a damaged stretch of road. The rider fell onto the roadway, and a Hyva truck carrying coal and fly ash ran over his left arm, leaving him with critical injuries.

The injured man has been identified as Shivdayal Sharma, a resident of Dibha locality in Chatra. According to eyewitnesses, the truck was travelling from Chatra towards Simaria when the accident took place. The impact of the incident was severe, prompting nearby residents to rush to the spot and immediately alert the police and ambulance services.

A team from Sadar Police Station reached the accident site and shifted the injured man to Chatra Sadar Hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors who examined him found his condition to be critical due to extensive damage to his left arm and heavy blood loss. After providing primary medical care, they referred him to a hospital in Patna for advanced treatment.

Following the accident, police seized the Hyva truck and launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the crash.

Local residents blamed the deteriorating condition of the road for the incident. They said the stretch near the bus stand has been riddled with deep potholes for a long time, posing a constant threat to commuters. According to them, repeated complaints about the damaged road have gone unaddressed, increasing the risk of accidents.

The incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for road repairs in the area, with residents demanding immediate action from the administration to prevent similar accidents in the future.
