Illegal Arms Factory Busted in Ramgarh, Three Including Couple Arrested

Police in Ramgarh district, Jharkhand, have uncovered an illegal arms manufacturing unit operating in Datto village under the Bhurkunda OP area. Acting on a tip-off, officers conducted a raid and recovered three semi-finished pistols, nine magazines, a weapon-manufacturing machine, a drilling machine, a gas cutter, railway iron pieces, and several other tools and raw materials used for making illegal firearms.

During the operation, police arrested Dinesh Vishwakarma, his wife Nutan Devi, and his elder brother Anil Vishwakarma. The three are currently being questioned. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused are originally from Lesariganj in Bihar's Nawada district and had allegedly been running the illegal arms manufacturing business for several years while posing as blacksmiths in Datto village.

According to the initial investigation, the weapons produced at the unit were allegedly supplied to the coal belt and nearby areas. Police suspect that these firearms may have been used in extortion, criminal offences and other illegal activities. Investigators are now working to identify other members of the network and trace the full supply chain behind the operation.

Based on information provided by the arrested accused, police are conducting raids at multiple locations to uncover the wider criminal network. Officials said every aspect of the case is being thoroughly investigated and that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in the illegal arms trade. Police have also appealed to the public to report any information related to the manufacture, storage or sale of illegal firearms, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept completely confidential.
