Deoghar Police Bust Brown Sugar Racket, Two Held with Drugs Worth ₹1.5 Lakh

Deoghar Police have achieved a major breakthrough in their ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking by arresting two alleged peddlers and recovering 7.31 grams of brown sugar, valued at approximately ₹1.5 lakh.
According to Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar, the operation was launched after police received confidential information that two individuals were present near Maheshmara Pond under the Rikhia police station limits to buy and sell brown sugar. After verifying the intelligence, a special team was formed under the leadership of SDPO Kuldeep Kumar to conduct the raid.
The team swiftly reached the location and apprehended the two suspects, identified as Chintu Pasi and Krishna Kumar. During the search, officers recovered 7.31 grams of brown sugar from their possession. Police also seized two iPhones believed to have been used in connection with the illegal drug trade.
Preliminary investigations suggest that both accused had been actively involved in the purchase and distribution of brown sugar in Deoghar for a considerable period. Investigators are now examining the confiscated mobile phones to trace other members of the suspected drug trafficking network and identify possible suppliers and buyers.
The Superintendent of Police said that the interrogation of the accused has already yielded several important leads, and further investigations are underway. A case has been registered against both individuals under the relevant provisions of the law, and they have been remanded to judicial custody.
Appealing to the public, SP Praveen Pushkar urged residents to stay away from narcotic substances and immediately report any information related to drug trafficking or suspicious activities to the police. He reaffirmed that Deoghar Police will continue their sustained campaign against illegal narcotics to eliminate the drug menace from the district.
