A shocking murder during a failed robbery attempt has triggered outrage in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district. Jewellery trader Deepak Kumar Sah was shot dead by armed motorcycle-borne criminals near his residence in Madhopur under Kacchi Pakki OP limits on Monday evening. According to police, the attackers attempted to snatch a bag containing jewellery as the businessman was returning home after closing his shop.

When Sah resisted, a scuffle broke out. Hearing the commotion, his wife and son rushed to the spot. The criminals then opened fire, killing him in front of his family before fleeing. Local residents prevented the robbers from escaping with the jewellery bag.

In their haste, the accused reportedly left behind a pistol, slippers and a cap, all of which have been seized by police. Senior officers, including Tirhut Range DIG Chandan Kushwaha and SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra, visited the scene. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed, while CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined to identify and arrest the culprits.
