Govt Blocks Telegram Ahead of NEET-UG Re-Exam to Curb Malpractice

The Union IT Ministry has temporarily blocked Telegram in India until June 22 ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. Acting on a request from the National Testing Agency, the government also directed the platform to disable message-editing features until June 30. Officials said the measures aim to prevent paper-leak networks, evidence tampering and exam-related fraud.
