A major theft was reported in Ranchi’s BIT Mesra area after burglars allegedly broke into a jewellery store and stole gold, silver, and cash worth more than ₹65 lakh. According to the shop owner, the thieves targeted PP Jewellers during the night after the store had closed.
The accused reportedly cut the lock, entered the premises, and made away with approximately 300 grams of gold, over 11 kilograms of silver ornaments, and cash. The theft came to light the following morning when the owner arrived to open the shop and found the lock broken and the store ransacked.
Police from BIT Mesra outpost reached the scene soon after receiving information and began an investigation. CCTV footage from the area reportedly captured the suspects arriving and fleeing in a car. Authorities are examining the footage and collecting evidence to identify those involved. A formal complaint has been registered, and efforts to trace the accused are underway.
