Litton Das Accuses Mohammad Rizwan of Poor Sportsmanship After Pakistan’s Series Defeat

Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has made serious allegations against Pakistan star Mohammad Rizwan following Bangladesh’s historic 2-0 Test series sweep over Pakistan. The comments have sparked fresh debate about sportsmanship and player conduct after the conclusion of the landmark series.
In an interview with a Bangladeshi newspaper, Litton claimed that Rizwan did not shake hands with Bangladeshi players after Pakistan’s defeats in either of the two Tests. According to Litton, regardless of what happens during a competitive match, players should show mutual respect once the game is over.
He stated that the rest of the Pakistani squad came forward to congratulate and greet the Bangladesh players, but alleged that Rizwan chose not to participate in the customary post-match handshake. Litton described the behavior as unprofessional and said such actions should not occur, regardless of a player’s status or reputation.
The series itself was marked by several on-field exchanges between the two cricketers. Videos showing verbal confrontations and sledging incidents involving Litton and Rizwan circulated widely on social media during the matches. Litton later admitted that he intentionally targeted Rizwan with verbal pressure because he considered him one of Pakistan’s most dangerous and reliable batters.
The Bangladesh batter also accused Rizwan of deliberately slowing the pace of play during the Tests. He suggested that repeated delays made conditions more difficult for fielders and wicketkeepers, particularly in challenging weather conditions.
Litton further revealed that an incident before the first Test had already influenced his opinion of Rizwan, although he declined to disclose specific details. He said the event left him disappointed and changed his perception of the Pakistani star.
So far, neither Rizwan nor the Pakistan Cricket Board has publicly responded to the allegations. As a result, the controversy continues to attract attention across the cricketing world.
