Two people were injured, including a minor who sustained serious injuries, in a road accident that occurred in the Tilaiya police station area of Koderma district on Saturday. The incident took place on Ranchi-Patna National Highway (NH-20) when an auto-rickshaw carrying scrap materials overturned after allegedly being struck by an unidentified vehicle.
According to reports, auto driver Tinku Kapoor was transporting plastic bottles and other scrap items to the Koderma Government Bus Stand. Two passengers, 12-year-old Rangila Bhuiyan and 17-year-old Sourabh Das, were also traveling in the vehicle.
The accident occurred near Kedia Dharam Kanta when an unidentified vehicle reportedly hit the auto-rickshaw from behind. The impact caused the vehicle to lose balance and overturn on the highway. As a result, the occupants were trapped and injured in the crash.
The most serious injuries were suffered by Rangila Bhuiyan, whose right arm was badly crushed after getting trapped under the overturned vehicle. Driver Tinku Kapoor also sustained a head injury during the accident.
Following the incident, panic spread among people present at the scene. A passing motorcyclist immediately came forward to help the victims. Demonstrating remarkable presence of mind and humanity, he transported the injured individuals to Koderma Sadar Hospital on his motorcycle, ensuring they received medical attention without delay.
Doctors treating the victims stated that Rangila Bhuiyan remains in critical condition and is under close observation. Meanwhile, the condition of driver Tinku Kapoor is reported to be stable, and he is currently out of danger.
Police have launched an investigation into the accident and are working to identify the unidentified vehicle responsible for the collision. Further action will be taken once the vehicle and its driver are traced.
