A sensational chain-snatching incident reported from the Govindpur police station area in Dhanbad has created confusion and concern after conflicting claims emerged from both the victim and the accused’s family.

According to the complaint, Neha Parveen, a resident of Barkagaon in Hazaribagh district, had come to Govindpur along with her family to visit a doctor. While searching for the correct location near Swagat Petrol Pump, they stopped to ask for directions. At that moment, an unidentified young man approached her and suddenly snatched the gold chain from her neck before fleeing the scene. The victim stated that the accused had long hair and was wearing a T-shirt. The incident happened so quickly that she could not react or identify him further.

Following the incident, the victim immediately reached Govindpur police station and lodged a written complaint demanding action against the accused. Police registered the case and began an investigation.

However, the case took an unexpected turn when the family of the accused youth came forward with a counterclaim. The father, Raisuddin, alleged that his son is being falsely implicated and that he was already in police custody at the time of the incident. This statement has added complexity to the investigation and raised questions about the sequence of events.

Police have stated that they are examining all possibilities and verifying facts through CCTV footage and other technical evidence from the area. Officers have emphasized that the actual truth will only be clear after a thorough investigation.

At present, it remains uncertain whether the case is a straightforward chain-snatching incident or if there is a deeper background involving prior disputes or mistaken identity. Authorities are continuing their probe to establish the facts and ensure justice based on evidence.
