Ram Charan’s ‘Peddy’ Gets Green Light for Premium Premieres in Andhra Pradesh Ahead of Big Release

Brief By Newsbrief / 6:39 PM on 30 May 2026

South Indian superstar Ram Charan’s much-awaited sports drama Peddy continues to generate massive excitement ahead of its theatrical release on June 4, 2026. The film has already become one of the most talked-about Telugu releases of the year, with strong anticipation among fans and moviegoers.

As part of its release strategy, the makers sought permission from authorities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to conduct special premiere shows and increase ticket prices during the opening week. However, approval was granted only in Andhra Pradesh.

Under the approved arrangement, premiere screenings of Peddy will begin on the night of June 3 at 8 PM across Andhra Pradesh. Ticket prices for these special shows have also been increased, with the cost of a single ticket reaching nearly ₹600, including GST. Additionally, theatres have been allowed to charge an extra ₹100 per ticket in single-screen cinemas and ₹125 in multiplexes during the film’s first week.

The state government has also permitted five shows per day, a move expected to significantly boost the film’s opening-week collections. Industry observers believe that the combination of additional screenings and higher ticket prices could help the movie achieve a strong box-office start and maximize early revenues.

Meanwhile, the situation in Telangana has been different. The producers approached the High Court seeking approval for a ticket-price increase, but the court declined to issue any special directions to the state government. Following the decision, the filmmakers chose to withdraw their petition.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddy features an impressive ensemble cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani. With its sports-based storyline, star-studded cast, and strong pre-release buzz, the film is being viewed as one of the biggest Telugu releases of 2026.
