Ahead of Apple’s WWDC 2026 event, major leaks have surfaced regarding iOS 27, with the biggest highlight being a complete overhaul of Siri. According to reports, Apple is preparing to transform Siri into a fully AI-powered conversational assistant that could compete directly with modern AI platforms like ChatGPT and Google Gemini.
As per Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, iOS 27 is expected to introduce a redesigned Siri interface that goes far beyond simple voice commands. Instead of short responses and single instructions, users will be able to engage in continuous, natural conversations with Siri, making it function more like an advanced chatbot.
The new Siri may include a dark-themed interface, an “Ask Siri” text input box, voice controls, file attachment support, and full conversation history. This would position Siri as not just a voice assistant but a complete AI interaction platform.
Another major rumored change is the deep integration of Siri with Apple’s Dynamic Island. Reports suggest that a new “Search or Ask” interface could appear when users swipe down on the screen. Siri’s responses may then appear as interactive cards within the Dynamic Island, with more detailed answers opening in a full chat window if needed.
Apple is also reportedly working on giving Siri on-screen awareness, allowing it to understand what is displayed on the iPhone screen in real time and respond accordingly. This would significantly improve contextual assistance.
Beyond Siri, AI features may also expand into Apple’s Photos and Camera apps. Tools like “Reframe” and “Extend” could allow users to automatically edit, enhance, or expand images using AI. The Camera app may also include a dedicated Siri mode for smarter shooting assistance.
However, not all devices may support these advanced features. It is suggested that many Apple Intelligence capabilities will be limited to iPhone 15 Pro models and newer devices.
Apple is expected to unveil iOS 27 officially at WWDC 2026 on June 8, with a stable release likely arriving in September alongside the next iPhone lineup.
