Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has opened up about how working on Ramayana became one of the most transformative experiences of his life. The actor said the film not only impacted him professionally but also changed him personally by making him rethink life, emotions, and spirituality.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the ambitious mythological film is being positioned as one of the biggest Indian cinematic projects ever made. The movie is expected to target a global audience, and its promotion has already started on international platforms.
In a recent interview with TF Magazine, Ranbir described the journey of making Ramayana as “humbling” and emotionally powerful. He said becoming part of such an important story connected him more deeply with Indian culture, history, and spiritual values.
Ranbir admitted that he was initially nervous about whether he would be able to do justice to the character and the scale of the film. However, those fears gradually turned into gratitude and emotional connection. According to him, the project became life-changing because it pushed him to evolve as a person.
The actor revealed that the film changed his habits, thoughts, and outlook toward life. He said it helped him better understand concepts like sacrifice, duty, faith, and personal loss. Ranbir especially highlighted the humanity of Lord Ram as the biggest lesson he learned during the process.
According to Ranbir, Lord Ram experienced deep emotional struggles but always responded with humility instead of ego. He believes that quality is the most inspiring aspect of the character in today’s world.
Ranbir also shared a personal connection between the film and the birth of his daughter Raha Kapoor in 2022. He said that around the same time Ramayana entered his life, he became a father. The actor explained that both experiences motivated him to become a better person.
Director Nitesh Tiwari also emphasized that the heart of the film lies in its emotional storytelling rather than just visual spectacle. He said the VFX and scale are designed only to enhance the emotional depth of the Ramayana story for modern audiences.
The makers are planning to release the film during Diwali this year, although the official release date is yet to be announced.
