Indian shooter Esha Singh delivered a historic performance at the ISSF World Cup 2026 in Munich by winning the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol event and setting a new world record. The 21-year-old star produced an extraordinary display in the final, scoring 43 hits out of 50 to break both the senior and junior world records in the discipline.
The achievement marked a major milestone in Indian shooting and established Esha as one of the brightest young talents in the sport. Competing against some of the world’s top shooters, including reigning Olympic champion Yang Ji-in, Esha showed remarkable composure, consistency, and confidence throughout the final.
She began the medal round in dominant fashion, producing three consecutive perfect series and taking control of the contest early. While several experienced competitors struggled under pressure during the elimination stages, Esha maintained exceptional accuracy and focus. Her confidence only grew stronger with each round, eventually helping her reach the historic tally of 43 hits.
The gold medal also secured Esha Singh a direct qualification spot for the ISSF World Cup Final scheduled to be held in Rome later this year.
Germany’s Doreen Vennekamp claimed the silver medal with 38 hits, while Bulgaria’s Miroslava Mincheva settled for bronze. Esha had entered the final after finishing fifth in qualification with a score of 587-19x, including 293 in precision and 294 in rapid fire.
Meanwhile, Indian shooter Manu Bhaker narrowly missed the final after finishing 12th. Industrialist Anand Mahindra also praised Esha’s remarkable achievement on social media.
