Drone Disaster in Sydney: Mid-Air Show Turns Into Chaos as 90 Drones Crash

What began as a dazzling drone light show in Sydney quickly turned into a frightening incident after dozens of drones suddenly lost control and crashed mid-event. The dramatic moment, captured on video by spectators, has now gone viral across social media platforms.
According to organizers, nearly 90 drones malfunctioned during the large-scale drone performance held at the Sydney Festival on Monday night. The event featured around 1,000 illuminated drones flying over Sydney Harbour before several devices unexpectedly began falling from the sky. Officials immediately halted the show after the incident.

Similar incidents have occurred in recent years, including a 2023 accident in Melbourne where more than 400 drones crashed due to strong winds. In 2024, a malfunctioning drone injured a boy during a show in Florida, USA. Another major drone failure was reported in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025, where drones reportedly fell toward spectators during a public event.
The Sydney incident has once again raised serious questions about the safety and reliability of large-scale drone entertainment shows.
