Hemant Soren’s Big Education Push: 5,000 Excellence Schools, Faster Teacher Hiring Ordered

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren conducted a high-level review of the School Education and Literacy Department, directing officials to strengthen quality education, speed up teacher recruitment, and improve infrastructure in government schools. During the meeting, Soren ordered officials to expand the number of CM Schools of Excellence to 5,000, ensuring quality education reaches every panchayat in the state.

The Chief Minister stressed that no government school should function with a single teacher within the next six to eight months. He instructed officials to accelerate recruitment, ensure timely salaries for newly appointed teachers, and improve internet connectivity and ICT lab facilities in schools.

Soren also highlighted the need to reduce school dropout rates and bring out-of-school children back into the education system through targeted campaigns. Officials informed him that dropout rates in Jharkhand have declined and academic performance in government schools is steadily improving.
