Speeding Trailer Causes Deadly Crash Near Charhi Overbridge

A major road accident took place on Sunday morning in the Charhi area of Hazaribagh district, creating panic among locals and commuters. The incident occurred near Prakash Hotel close to the Charhi Overbridge, where a speeding trailer carrying bricks went out of control and crashed into multiple vehicles parked along the roadside. The accident claimed the lives of two people on the spot, while two others were seriously injured.

According to reports, the brick-laden trailer was travelling from Bihar Sharif towards Ranchi. At around 6 AM, as the vehicle reached the Charhi area, the driver reportedly lost control of the trailer. The uncontrolled vehicle rammed into three vehicles parked near the roadside.

Sources said that several drivers and passengers had stopped near the hotel for tea when the speeding trailer suddenly ploughed into them. The impact of the collision was extremely severe, completely damaging the vehicles and crushing the front portion of the trailer.

Two people travelling in the trailer got trapped under the wreckage and died on the spot. Meanwhile, two other individuals sustained serious injuries in the accident.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, the Charhi police station team reached the spot and started rescue operations with the help of local residents. After considerable effort, the trapped victims were pulled out from the debris. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Police have sent the bodies for postmortem examination and are working to establish the identities of the deceased. The accident also disrupted traffic movement on the highway for some time before authorities managed to restore normal flow.
