The murder of emerging Punjabi singer Inder Kaur, also known as Yashinder Kaur, has shocked Punjab and triggered outrage on social media. Her body was recovered from the Neelo canal on Monday morning, nearly six days after she reportedly went missing.

According to the family, a man from Moga had been pressuring Inder Kaur to marry him for a long time. They alleged that after she clearly refused the proposal, the accused allegedly kidnapped her at gunpoint and later murdered her.

Family members claimed the crime was carefully planned. They alleged that the accused had travelled from Canada to Punjab through Nepal to carry out the crime and later escaped back to Canada using the same route.

The family revealed that Inder Kaur had first connected with the accused through Instagram nearly three years ago. Over time, the two became close, but later the singer reportedly discovered that the man was already married and had children. After learning the truth, she distanced herself from him and refused to marry him.

According to relatives, the accused became angry after her refusal and allegedly continued to mentally harass and pressure her. The family believes the murder was pre-planned and has demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and strict legal action.

After receiving information about the body, police reached the spot and recovered the body from the canal before sending it to the Civil Hospital in Samrala for postmortem examination. Investigators are now examining all angles related to the alleged kidnapping, murder and the accused’s escape. Police are also trying to identify whether anyone helped him flee.

Reports suggest that Inder Kaur’s parents and two brothers currently live in Korea, while another brother resides in Ludhiana’s Jamalpur area. The tragic incident has left the family devastated, while fans and local residents continue to demand justice for the singer.
