Stone-Pelting After Fatal Accident: 84 Named, 400 Unidentified Booked in Garhwa

Police in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district have launched a major crackdown after stone-pelting incidents at Mahulia Mor following a road accident that killed two people. According to SP Aman Kumar, 84 individuals have been named as accused, including 60 identified at the scene and 24 motorcycle owners. Additionally, FIRs have been registered against around 400 unidentified persons.

The violence erupted after locals initially blocked the road in protest. Although officials managed to pacify the crowd earlier, tensions escalated later in the evening when some individuals allegedly resorted to stone-pelting. To bring the situation under control, police carried out a lathicharge and fired in the air. Several police personnel sustained injuries during the clash.

So far, 14 accused have been arrested and sent to जेल. Police have also seized 24 motorcycles from the spot and are conducting continuous raids to identify and apprehend others involved in the unrest.
