Dhanbad Horror: Woman’s Body Found Burnt Inside Home, Brother Under Probe

A shocking incident has emerged from Jharkhand’s Dhanbad, where a divorced woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside her home, with her body later partially burnt. The deceased, identified as Lipika Kumari, had reportedly died on April 8, but her body remained inside the house for nearly five days.

According to initial reports, her brother, who was living with her, failed to arrange a proper cremation due to financial constraints and alleged social isolation. In a desperate attempt, he reportedly tried to cremate the body inside the bathroom using household items. The situation came to light when neighbours noticed thick smoke and alerted the police.

Upon arrival, police extinguished the fire and recovered the remains. Investigators suspect the family had been under severe mental stress following the death of their father in 2023. Authorities are now probing all angles, including natural death, suicide, or possible foul play.
