A team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) visited the Chas Circle Office in Bokaro on Thursday to investigate alleged irregularities in land records, creating a stir among employees. Led by DSP Naval Kishore Prasad, the team examined official documents, including Register-II, and questioned staff regarding suspicious entries.
The case dates back to 2019 and involves the alleged improper transfer and digitisation of “stagnant jamabandi” records in Bandhgoda Mauja. According to sources, nearly five acres of land belonging to Aryabhat Housing Cooperative Society—along with about 1.32 acres of forest land—were reportedly converted into online records through questionable means.
Officials refrained from sharing detailed findings, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. The DSP confirmed that the matter is under active scrutiny. Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is also conducting a parallel investigation into the same case, indicating the seriousness of the allegations and potential administrative lapses.
