Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced development projects worth ₹500 crore during his visit to Saharsa, highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening infrastructure and public services in the region. Addressing a public gathering, he said the initiatives would improve connectivity, enhance civic amenities, and support overall development in north-eastern Bihar.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary stated that the tender process for the proposed Saharsa airport is expected to be issued within a month. The airport project is seen as a major step toward boosting regional connectivity and economic activity.
During the visit, several development schemes were inaugurated and foundation stones laid for new infrastructure works. Nitish Kumar also highlighted improvements in electricity supply, road connectivity, and welfare schemes implemented by the state government in recent years.
Officials said the projects aim to accelerate development in Saharsa and surrounding districts, making travel easier and improving basic facilities for residents while strengthening the region’s economic growth prospects.
