Elderly Woman Seriously Injured in Patna Chain-Snatching Incident

A 65-year-old woman was critically injured in a chain-snatching incident in Patna’s Kankarbagh area on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, identified as Munni Devi from Bihiya in Bhojpur district, was dragged along the road after attempting to stop a motorcycle-borne thief who snatched her chain.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:30 pm near the Panch Shiv Temple while Munni Devi was walking with her granddaughter. The accused, riding a black motorcycle, suddenly snatched her chain and sped away. When she tried to resist, she was pulled along the road, suffering a fractured right arm and serious injuries to other parts of her body, including near her kidney.

She was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kankarbagh, where she is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. Doctors are closely monitoring her condition.

Police have registered a case and begun an investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify and apprehend the suspect.
